Speak up for Mountain Biking this week!
Mecklenburg Parks & Rec are holding the last of their planned public input meetings to guide their future development plans this week!
This is a really important opportunity to make sure that mountain biking gets a seat at the table in parks, trails, and funding decisions.
We have had members show up at the sessions so far, but we really need even more people for these ones coming up.
There are three different workshops planned.
These are drop-in, interactive workshops, so you won’t be trapped sitting through any presentations! Stay for as long or short as you like.
What to do:
When asked what you enjoy, want more of, or want prioritized:
- Write in: mountain bike trails or natural surface MTB trail networks
- Emphasize trail systems built on existing park land
When ranking amenities or funding priorities:
- Favor mountain biking, trails, natural areas, outdoor recreation
- Plain language is perfect — just be explicit.
- Highlight parks, trails and locations that you care about.
This is the fastest way to make mountain biking visible in the planning process.
Why This Matters
Decision-makers notice turnout. They need to know what YOU care about.
These surveys shape:
- What gets funded
- What gets built
- What quietly disappears from future plans
If we don’t show up and speak up, mountain biking won’t get the attention you know it deserves.
