A compact one-mile beginner loop across the road from Jetton Park in Cornelius. Smooth, rolling singletrack with berms, switchbacks and small rock gardens. Built for laps.
Jetton Park's mountain bike trail is a compact, one-mile loop in Cornelius, close to Lake Norman. It sits just across Jetton Road from the main Jetton Park entrance, with its own trailhead lot and kiosk.
The trail rolls through pine and hardwood forest on mostly smooth, wide singletrack, with only a couple of rooty sections. Along the way you'll find moderate switchback climbs and descents, bermed turns, small rock gardens and a short bridge.
It's a great place for newer riders to build skills and confidence, and the short loop makes it easy to ride lap after lap. More experienced riders will enjoy it for a quick, lappable spin.
The trail was designed with adaptive riders in mind, so it is wide and smooth enough for hand-cycles and other adaptive mountain bikes.
Volunteers from the Tarheel Trailblazers and the Dirt Divas built this trail.
Making a day of it? Jetton Park, across the road, has restrooms, picnic areas and a paved lakeside loop.
