Portal
Distance: 1.1 mi Elevation Gain: 135 ft Est. Time: 5-10 mins per lap Difficulty: Intermediate
Flowy singletrack with many advanced and expert features, including jumps, gaps, drops and a long log roll.
Portal is a recent addition to the large trail system around Little Sugar Creek Greenway that includes Backyard Trails, Park Road Park and Marion Diehl.
Portal has its own unique character, with much more flow than the other nearby trails, and a lot of advanced and expert features packed into just over a mile of trail.
The trail winds through the woods and is set up to be easy to lap as you learn it. There are several optional features that are for advanced and expert riders only, including mandatory drops and gaps, so stop and look before riding them first time.
The Decompression area offers several fun different routes to roll or drop down some steep terrain, and to loop to do it again.
The trail is still under active development so watch out for volunteers and pay attention to any signs about areas that are closed for work.

Parking options
Portal has no parking of its own, but is accessed from the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, at the 7.5 mile marker. Parking options for the greenway are covered in the trail descriptions for Backyard Trails, Park Road Park and Marion Diehl.
Park is open dawn to dusk
Class 1 e-bikes are allowed on trails. Class 1 means bikes that only provide electric assistance when pedaling, don’t have a throttle and don't provide assistance over 20mph. Any bike with a throttle or that can provide electric assistance over 20mph is not allowed on trails because of the safety risk to other trail users, and the hard to repair trail damage they cause.
Closes for rain and trail work, so always check trail status here before riding.
Portal is accessed from the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, just south of the bridge at the 7.5 mile marker. Go up the small access trail and turn right to follow the main trail counterclockwise. Easy to add extra laps.
Park closes at dusk so no night riding
